I was given complete affirmation from everyone that has reached out that I have done the right thing by sharing our story in hopes that I could help someone. I have received calls, messages and comments in regards to my post last night from friends and family. I finally felt at peace with sharing our story in hopes that it could help someone. I will never forget the moment when that doctor made those statements. I believed that a hospital is a hospital and wow was I so very wrong about that. I had NO IDEA that there were different levels of care at hospitals. I realized in that exact moment that I needed to share our story. I had tears streaming down my face as I listened to this doctor make these statements. He went on to explain that some of the victims would have not survived had they not had access to their Level 1 trauma center. He continued to explain that they have a Level 1 trauma center and had all of the resources and supplies to handle this type of tragic event. Beyond grateful for those kind words!Īs I was watching the press conference on Tuesday morning with the doctors and nurses who aided the victims in the shooting at the Pulse night club, one of the doctors made the statement about the level of care that Orlando Health provides. I immediately went to bed after I made the post and woke up to so many heartfelt messages.
